President Biden strongly denied serious allegations of interacting with his son and brother’s foreign business associates, dismissing calling the claims “lies.”
When confronted by a reporter about these alleged interactions, Biden responded, “I’m not going to comment on that. I did not, and it’s just a bunch of lies.” The president reiterated that he had not engaged with the mentioned associates and insisted on the falsehood of such accusations, The Hill reported.

The denial comes amid House Republicans’ plans to hold a vote next week to formalize the impeachment inquiry, led by Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.). The inquiry, spearheaded by Oversight Committee Chair Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), has been ongoing for months, with Republicans aiming to portray Biden as corrupt. The focus of the investigations includes allegations of the Biden family accepting money from foreign interests in questionable financial dealings.
The multipronged inquiry extends to scrutinizing the foreign business activities of Hunter Biden, the president’s son, as well as other family members like James Biden, his brother. Additionally, there are contested claims regarding whether Biden, during his tenure as vice president, exerted policy pressure to benefit the Ukrainian energy company Burisma. The investigation also touches on concerns about the Department of Justice’s handling of a tax crimes probe into Hunter Biden.
The Biden administration has escalated its criticism of the impeachment inquiry, attempting to link the GOP conference to its more far-right members and create a political quandary for moderate Republicans. As the situation unfolds, the president continues to reject allegations of inappropriate interactions with family associates involved in foreign business dealings.
