Two Democrat staged an insurrection of sorts at the office of Speaker of the House and Louisiana Republican Rep. Mike Johnson.
The two Democrat lawmakers, California Rep. Judy Chu and Wisconsin Rep. Gwen Moore barged into the Speaker’s office and demanded answers about Department of Government Efficiency head Elon Musk, the CEO of Space X and Tesla, gaining access to the Treasury Department’s payment system.
The intrusion came as Treasury Secretary arrived at the Speaker’s office to discuss President Donald Trump’s tax agenda.
“Gwen Moore forced her way in there, and then I got to go in right behind her,” Rep. Chu said to reporters. “And she was already confronting Speaker Johnson about Treasury Secretary Bessent and the stealing of Americans’ private information, tax information that should never be stolen and given to this billionaire Elon Musk.”
One person who witnessed the incident told Politico that the two Democrat lawmakers were “unhinged.”
“In the face of incredibly rude, extremely aggressive and frankly unhinged behavior, the Speaker was more than gracious and allowed the members into his personal office to hear their concerns,” the person said.
But a spokesperson for Rep. Chu said that the description was not accurate.
“She never barged, or shoved her way, into anything. She politely joined the meeting already occurring and the Speaker invited her in for a brief, civil discussion. The Secretary was not present, and she left immediately afterwards,” Chu’s communication director, Graeme Crews said.
Democrats gathered outside the Treasury Building to protest Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative after staffers reportedly gained access to information regarding trillions in payments made by Treasury.
Before delivering her speech, Pressley led protestors in a “hey hey, ho ho, Elon Musk has got to go,” chant before making her way to the podium.
“Agitating. We will see you in the courts, in Congress, in the streets,” the far-left congresswoman shouted before referring to Musk as a “Nazi nepo-baby.”
She added: “A godless, lawless billionaire who no one elected.
“Elon, this is the American people. This is not your trashy cyber truck that you can just dismantle, rip apart, and sell the pieces off. All right,” she said.
