Trump Returns to Twitter, Posts His Mugshot Photo

Former President Donald Trump reemerged on social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, with a poignant message following his booking into Fulton County Jail in Atlanta, Georgia.

Trump’s post featured an image of his mugshot from August 24, 2023, alongside the words “Mug Shot – August 24, 2023. Election interference. Never Surrender! DonaldJTrump.Com.”

Trump’s appearance on X comes after a suspension from the platform in January 2021, a restriction that was lifted when entrepreneur Elon Musk took over the company in October 2022.

The significance of this post is amplified by the fact that it was made just after Fulton County Jail authorities released Trump’s mugshot, a historic event as it marks the first-ever mugshot taken of a former US president.

The charges against Trump stem from a series of alleged actions aiming to challenge the 2020 presidential election results in Georgia.

In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, President Trump shared his experience of having a mugshot taken during his processing at Fulton County Jail in Georgia. Trump revealed that Georgia officials “insisted” on capturing the mugshot, an action he described as unsettling, especially considering his conviction of having done nothing wrong.

“They insisted on a mugshot and I agreed to do that,” he said in a statement to Fox News Digital. “This is the only time I’ve ever taken a mugshot.”

He continued: “It is not a comfortable feeling—especially when you’ve done nothing wrong.”
