Trump Says Having Mugshot Photo Taken Was 'Not a Comfortable Feeling, Especially When You've Done Nothing Wrong'

Former President Donald Trump opened up about his experience at the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta, Georgia, on Wednesday, where he was booked on charges related to his alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

Trump revealed that Georgia officials “insisted” on taking his mugshot during processing, and he expressed discomfort over the situation, particularly since he believes he has done nothing wrong.

“This is all about election interference,” Trump asserted during the interview, pointing fingers at Washington, the Department of Justice, and President Joe Biden. He voiced his concern that such events are unprecedented in American history.

Speaking to Fox News Digital, Trump criticized the current state of the United States, stating that it is performing poorly under the leadership of President Biden. Trump said that the US under Biden has regressed into a third-world country.

Following his booking, Trump was quickly processed and released from the jail on a bail of $200,000. Jail records revealed details about his physical appearance, including height, weight, hair color, and eye color.

The legal battle that lies ahead for Trump includes charges such as violation of the Georgia RICO Act, criminal solicitation, criminal conspiracy, filing false documents, and making false statements.

The former president and more than a dozen others, including his former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows and his former attorneys Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell, face legal actions stemming from the Fulton County probe.

Trump’s arraignment is expected to take place early next month, where he is anticipated to plead not guilty to the charges. He has enlisted the representation of Steven Sadow, an Atlanta-based white-collar defense attorney, in the Fulton County case.

“I have been retained to represent President Trump in the Fulton County, Georgia case,” Sadow said in a statement to Fox. “The President should never have been indicted. He is innocent of all the charges brought against him.”

Sadow continued: “We look forward to the case being dismissed or, if necessary, an unbiased, open minded jury finding the President not guilty. Prosecutions intended to advance or serve the ambitions and careers of political opponents of the President have no place in our justice system.”
