Trump Calls for 'Out of Control' Violence on College Campuses to 'Stop Immediately'

President Trump has strongly criticized the violent anti-Israel demonstrations that erupted on college campuses overnight, emphasizing the urgent need for replacing “weak and ineffective leadership” at universities while calling for immediate action to halt antisemitism.

Reacting to the chaos witnessed across various campuses nationwide, including UCLA, Tulane University, Columbia University, and the University of Arizona, Trump expressed concern over the clashes between pro-Palestinian demonstrators and pro-Israel students.

“This violence has to stop immediately,” Trump emphasized, urging swift action to address what he termed as “weak and ineffective leadership” at colleges and universities. He reiterated the imperative of combating antisemitism promptly and effectively.

Reports indicate clashes at UCLA, where authorities described the situation as “out of control” and “no longer safe,” prompting police intervention with riot gear to restore order on campus.

Meanwhile, arrests and confrontations occurred at other universities like Columbia University, City College of New York, Tulane University, and the University of Arizona. Law enforcement efforts included dispersing gas, firing rubber bullets, and clashing with demonstrators.

In New York, the NYPD intervened to remove a Palestinian flag replacing the American flag at City College of New York, part of ongoing protests. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass condemned the violence at UCLA as “absolutely abhorrent and inexcusable.”

Trump’s remarks come amidst escalating tensions and widespread unrest at various campuses, underscoring the need for decisive action to address the situation and restore order while upholding principles of peace and tolerance.
