White House Falsely Claims DeSantis Is 'Attacking Trans Kids'

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre accused Florida Governor Ron DeSantis of “attacking young kids and parents” during a recent press conference.

The Biden regime’s mouthpiece was responding to media questions regarding DeSantis’ comment made earlier, in which he declared that “Florida is where woke goes to die.”

Jean-Pierre argued that when Republicans do not agree with an issue or policy, they often resort to using the term “woke,” which she claimed leads to “despicable policy.” She added that this is not a productive way to move the country forward and is instead about attacking people for how they view themselves and want to live.

“What does that have to do with anything about being woke? That is just hate and it is shameful,” Jean-Pierre said. “We’re going to call it out. And like I said, the President is going to continue to say we have the back of that community or any vulnerable community.”

DeSantis made his statement about Florida during a speech in Iowa on Friday, where he spoke alongside Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds at the Freedom Blueprint Event. The event was notable, as Iowa holds the first caucus of the election, which is less than a year away from Friday.

It is not yet known if DeSantis will run for president in 2024, but his Iowa visit suggests that it may be in mind.

The Florida governor’s comments about his state being where “woke goes to die” were likely a reference to the state’s conservative policies and rejection of excessive political correctness.

“This is not protecting freedoms,” she continued. “This is not having a good faith conversation on how we can move the country forward. This is about attacking. We’re talking about attacking young kids and their parents because of how they view themselves, because of how they want to live.

“Kids and their parents. What does that have to do with anything about being woke? That is just hate and it is shameful. It is shameful and we’re going to call it out. And like I said, the President is going to continue to say we have the back of that community or any vulnerable community,” she concluded.
