VP Vance Warns GOP Senators Not to Waiver On Trump Nominees

Vice President JD Vance is warning Republican senators that they better think long and hard before they vote against any of President Donald Trump’s picks for his Cabinet.

He spoke with Fox News host Sean Hannity and reminded the senators that their job is to advise and consent, not pick the members of the president’s Cabinet.

“The president has made his selections and the advice and consent power of the United States Senate should not be used to block people because you have one policy disagreement on one issue,” he said to the host. “You don’t get to make these decisions. President Trump gets to make these decisions, and he already has.”

He advised the Republicans to look at the coalition that the president assembled to score a mandate victory for Republicans in the November election that included RFK Jr and Tulsi Gabbard.

“Donald Trump won an imposing mandate because he got a different group of people to vote Republican than had ever voted Republican. We have to give those parts of the coalition some wins, too. So, yes, we’ve got a lot of traditional Republicans in the administration. We’ve got a lot of traditional national security hawks in the administration. But we’ve also got some new people, some people who bring a fresh perspective,” said Vance.

The members of the president’s Cabinet that have been confirmed so far are Secretary of State Marco Rubio, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum.

Kash Patel, President Donald Trump’s nominee to lead the FBI, vowed on Thursday to collaborate with Senator Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., in uncovering those who aided Jeffrey Epstein in trafficking and exploiting children.

“I want to talk to you about the Epstein case. I have worked on this for years trying to get those records of who flew on Epstein’s plane and who helped him build this international human trafficking sex trafficking ring,” she said.

She also criticized former Judiciary Chairman Dick Durbin, accusing him of obstructing efforts to obtain those records.

“Now, earlier, I urged then Chairman Durbin to subpoena those records, and I ended up being blocked by Senator Durbin and Christopher Wray. They stonewalled on this,” Blackburn said. “And I know that breaking up these trafficking rings is important to President Trump. So will you work with me on this issue? So we know who worked with Jeffrey Epstein in building these sex trafficking rings?”

“Absolutely, Senator,” Patel replied. “Child sex trafficking has no place in the United States of America. And I will do everything, if confirmed as FBI director, to make sure the American public knows the full weight of what happened in the past and how we are going to counterman missing children and exploited children going forward.”
