Vast Majority Don't Believe Trump Did Anything 'Illegal' In Hush Money Case

President Joe Biden’s chances of defeating former President Donald Trump are dwindling more and more with each poll.

In the most recent poll it appears that the strategy of hitting the former president with an avalanche of court cases is failing as around only 35 percent of people surveyed believe the former president did anything criminal, Breitbart News reported.

Regarding the accusation that Trump “covered up hush money payments to a woman who said he had an affair with her,” only 35 percent of those surveyed said that they believe he did something against the law, the AP/NORC survey.

An additional 31 percent of the respondents believe he did something “unethical but not illegal,” and 14 percent believe that he did “nothing wrong,” with 19 percent saying that they “don’t know enough to say.”

And when seen on Party lines the numbers are still stunning.

Only 67 percent of Democrats believe he did something illegal in the Stormy Daniels case, but only two percent believe he did nothing wrong, and 27 percent believe that he acted unethically but not illegally.

The numbers were not stunning when Republicans were question as only six percent believe Trump did something against the law, 40 percent believe he acted unethically but did not break the law and 28 percent said they believe Trump did not do anything wrong. The number of those who said that they did not know enough about the case to have an opinion was 26 percent.

For independents, 32 percent of independents believe the former president did commit a crime in this case, 25 percent said that he acted unethically but did not break the law, 15 percent believe that he did nothing wrong, and 27 percent said that they did not know enough about the case to have an opinion.

The survey comes as scrutiny has continued to haunt the judge in the case.

“Let’s remember that Judge Merchan is a Biden donor. Let’s remember that his family has a vested financial interest in this case or … the fact that the case is ongoing,” Jesse Binnall, an attorney for the former president in his civil cases and January 6, said to “Breitbart News Daily.”
