Canada’s prime minister accused a Jewish woman of standing with Nazis and confederate flag wavers because members of her political party supported the trucker convoy in Ottawa.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told Conservative MP Melissa Lantsman that her party stood with “people who have swastikas” and “confederate flags.
SHOCK VIDEO: PM @JustinTrudeau answers a question from Conservative MP @MelissaLantsman, a Jewish woman and descendent of Holocaust survivors by saying Conservatives stand with swastikas.
This is beneath Trudeau and his office and he should apologize. #cdnpoli pic.twitter.com/cxHNEaJKGJ— Brian Lilley (@brianlilley) February 16, 2022
“Conservative Party members can stand with people who wave swastikas, they can stand with people who wave the confederate flag. We will choose to stand with Canadians who deserve to be able to get to their jobs, to be able to get their lives back. These illegal protests need to stop, and they will,” he said to her, after she pressed the prime minister on why he had changed his tone on freedoms for Canadians.
I think the Prime Minister should think long and hard about his own history before singling out a Jewish Member of Parliament and falsely accusing me of standing with a Swastika. What a disgraceful statement unbecoming of anyone in public office – he owes me an apology. #cdnpoli

Incredibly, the prime minister would then refuse to apologize after members of Canada’s government called on Trudeau to do so.
The move was heavily condemned thereafter by Conservative MPs, including from potential prime ministerial candidate Pierre Poilievre, who said that this was “a new low, even for Trudeau.”
“He falsely accuses a Jewish MP and descendent of holocaust survivors of standing with people who wave swastikas. She did not,” he wrote.
A new low, even for Trudeau: he falsely accuses a Jewish MP and descendent of holocaust survivors of standing with people who wave swastikas. She did not.
Enough lying and dividing.
