CNN terminated divisive cohost Don Lemon after nearly two decades with the network. The decision was met with cheers from conservatives and even caught the attention of former President Donald Trump.
Trump took to Truth Social to celebrate the news. “Good News,” he said. “The dumbest man on television, Don Lemon, has finally been fired from Fake News CNN. My only question is, WHAT TOOK THEM SO LONG?”
This isn’t the first time Lemon has received this particular label from Trump. In 2019, the former president slammed the CNN anchor for suggesting he was racist, tweeting, “CNN’s Don Lemon, the dumbest man on television, insinuated last night while asking a debate ‘question’ that I was a racist, when in fact I am ‘the least racist person in the world’.”
Trump also took the opportunity to point out that CNN’s ratings have gone down the tubes, adding, “Don’t hold your breath!”

When Lemon was demoted from his primetime slot to the morning show in September, Trump once again referred to him as “the dumbest man on television,” saying he “made even Lebron James look smart during their interview.”
On Monday, Lemon took to Twitter to announce his termination from CNN, claiming that he had found out via his agent and not from a senior member of the management team.
CNN responded to Lemon’s announcement by stating that he “was offered an opportunity to meet with management but instead released a statement on Twitter.”
Lemon’s departure from CNN has been a long time coming. His divisive commentary and biased reporting have drawn the ire of many on the right, who accuse him of being nothing more than a partisan hack.
Conservatives across the country are celebrating the news of Lemon’s termination, and many are calling on other news outlets to follow CNN’s lead and remove similarly divisive and biased reporters from their networks.
