An Arkansas judge has ruled that Hunter Biden, the son of President Biden, must be present for all future court hearings related to his ongoing child support case with Lunden Roberts, the mother of his child.
Independence County Circuit Judge Holly Meyer expressed her frustrations with how long the litigation has been taking, stating during a heated Zoom call with both parties’ attorneys that she will no longer allow clients to be excused from hearings.
According to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Judge Meyer said, “From now on … I want both of your clients at every hearing I conduct.” The next in-person court hearing for the paternity suit is scheduled for May 1 at 9 a.m., and Hunter Biden will be required to attend.
At the most recent court hearing, Lunden Roberts called for the president’s son to be thrown in an Arkansas jail over his refusal to hand over financial records for child support, according to the Daily Mail.
Hunter Biden’s lawyers attempted to renegotiate the monthly amount given to Roberts six months ago, citing “loss of earnings.”
However, Roberts is demanding detailed financial records that show the alleged loss of earnings, and Hunter Biden was given a two-month deadline on February 22 to provide the documents, which his team failed to do during the most recent court hearing.
Brent Langdon, Hunter Biden’s attorney, told Judge Holly Meyer that they are unable to produce the requested financial records because they are believed to be on his laptop, which remains in a repair shop, according to the NY Post.
During the meeting, the judge asked Langdon about Biden’s “infamous” laptop, in which he replied that he’s “not in a position to even begin to answer that question,” distancing himself from his client’s other legal matters.
The laptop was brought up during the meeting after Langdon filed a motion seeking a restraining order against Garret Ziegler, a former Trump adviser that produced a detailed analysis of Biden’s laptop, who Roberts is using as an expert witness in the case, according to the outlet.
The two share a 4-year-old daughter, Navy Jones Roberts, who Lunden is raising on her own as Biden has yet to publicly acknowledge her existence. In 2019, Roberts took Hunter Biden to court, where he was forced to provide a DNA test that proved he was the biological father of Navy. The brief fling between Roberts and Biden took place in 2017.
