Trump Shocks Reporter With VP Announcement - 'Very Talented' Pick

The entire world of politics, particularly in the Republican Party, has been waiting for former President Donald Trump to announce his choice for vice president.

And this week, after he met with Republican House and Senate, he said something very revealing about his choice for the coveted job.

“If it wasn’t apparent before, it certainly is after today. President Trump has the support of the majority of House and Senate Republicans. And in his first exclusive interview after meeting with them, he extended an olive branch to one political opponent, while showing empathy for another,” Fox News reporter Aishah Hasnie said in a voice over for a clip that showed the former president meeting with Republicans.

“After his whirlwind tour of Washington, talking business, policy, campaigns, and burying the hatchet with GOP Leader Mitch McConnell, Trump spoke exclusively to FOX about it all and gave us a hint about his V.P. pick,” she said before cutting to the interview with the former president.

“A lot of folks surrounding you, some of them are on the short list for V.P.,” she said to him in an interview after his meeting.

“Yes,” the former president responded.

“Was your pick for V.P. in that room with you?” the former president said.

“Probably, yes,” he said to laughter.

“Probably. I don’t want to go — but probably. I think we will probably announce it during the convention,” he said.

“Do you know who your V.P. is?” the reporter said.

“I have sort of a pretty good idea. Look, we have some really talented people. I have a pretty good idea,” he said.

The former president recently said that there are even Democrats who want to be his vice president.

“I get a kick out of watching the fake news media say, ‘Nobody wants to work with him; nobody wants to be vice president; Nobody wants to be secretary of state.’ Everybody wants to be in these positions,” he said.

“There’s is not a person in politics that doesn’t want it, and that includes Democrats. If I wanted, I’d have a Democrat; I’d have a liberal; I’d have … anybody I want,” the former president said.

But he did say that would not be picking a Democrat to be by his side in the 2024 presidential election.

“But we’re going to pick somebody that’s really good, really conservative; loves law and order, low taxes, low interest rates, borders,” he said. “We have to have the border. The border is killing our country.”
