In a candid interview from the Oval Office, President Donald Trump described his return to the White House as a pivotal moment for the nation, emphasizing that the “radical left’s” agenda of the past four years has been a failure, with policies he labeled “horrible” and ineffective.
Trump spoke with Fox News host Sean Hannity on Wednesday, marking his first in-depth discussion since his inauguration as the 47th president. He criticized the previous administration for policies that he argued exacerbated inflation, mishandled the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, and failed to prevent the Russia-Ukraine and Israel-Hamas conflicts.
“With all that being said, I think it’s bigger. It’s bigger than if it were more traditional,” Trump said on Hannity, highlighting the significance of his nonconsecutive terms. “I think we got there just in the nick of time.”
Trump acknowledged the extensive effort required to address the nation’s challenges but remained optimistic. “We can get our country back. But if we didn’t win this race, I really believe our country would have been lost forever,” he said.
The discussion shifted when Hannity brought up former President Biden’s controversial last-minute pardons for members of his own family as he left office.
“This guy went around giving everybody pardons, and, you know, the funny thing — maybe the sad thing — is he didn’t give himself a pardon. And, if you look at it, it all had to do with him,” Trump said.
