Trump Polling Well Against Haley Ahead of New Hampshire: Survey

Former President Donald Trump has a comfortable lead over GOP presidential rival Nikki Haley heading into the next round of the GOP primaries in New Hampshire next week, according to a just-released survey.

According to a Suffolk University/NBC 10 Boston/Boston Globe tracking poll released Wednesday leads Haley in the new poll 50%-34%, with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis a distant third at 5%, Newsmax reported, citing the survey.

The outlet added:

The survey of 500 likely Republican primary voters comes ahead of New Hampshire’s first-in-the-nation primary, Tuesday, Jan. 23, where a shrinking field will compete. Conservative entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy suspended his campaign after a disappointing fourth place finish and endorsed Trump.

Haley has been vigorously campaigning in the state for months.

“When you look at how well we’re doing in New Hampshire and in South Carolina and beyond, I can safely say tonight Iowa made this Republican primary a two-person race,” she said this week.

Former Fox News star Tucker Carlson responded to Trump’s resounding Iowa caucus victory Monday evening by claiming when ballot integrity measures are widely implemented and used, the former president dominates.

“At some point, it will be interesting to discover why a certain type of person fears Donald Trump to the point of hysteria. There’s an awful lot going on, more than we publically acknowledge,” he said.

“Trump won the Iowa caucus by more than 30 points, that is more than double the previous record… Last night was not close. It was a shocking blowout. Trump did to Iowa what the Vikings once did to the Irish coast. Only smoldering huts remained. Chris Wallace looked like he was going to be sick,” he joked.

“Donald Trump won decisively. At this point, it’s hard to see how he’s not the Republican nominee. He didn’t just win last night. He triumphed overwhelmingly by a historic margin. Trump won… by about 30 points,” he continued.

Carlson then laid out a rather dark scenario that would see a different 2024 GOP candidate ultimately win the party’s presidential nomination.

Haley can only become the Republican nominee if primary voters have no one else to vote for. The plan works like this: Ron DeSantis drops out after losing a few contests in a row, he simply uns out of money and has to head back to Florida,” he predicted.

“At that point, liberal donors swing as a bloc to Nikki Haley, giving her bottomless resources. That is already happening right now. And critically, Donald Trump goes to jail. That could happen too, to be honest. At that point, bam, Nikki Haley wins the Republican nomination by default,” he added.
