Carlson: Iowa Caucuses Prove Paper Ballots, Voter ID Work - And Trump Dominated

Former Fox News star Tucker Carlson responded to Donald Trump’s resounding Iowa caucus victory Monday evening by claiming that when ballot integrity measures are widely implemented and used, the former president dominates.

“At some point, it will be interesting to discover why a certain type of person fears Donald Trump to the point of hysteria. There’s an awful lot going on, more than we publically acknowledge,” he said.

“Trump won the Iowa caucus by more than 30 points, that is more than double the previous record… Last night was not close. It was a shocking blowout. Trump did to Iowa what the Vikings once did to the Irish coast. Only smoldering huts remained. Chris Wallace looked like he was going to be sick,” he joked.

“Donald Trump won decisively. At this point, it’s hard to see how he’s not the Republican nominee. He didn’t just win last night. He triumphed overwhelmingly by a historic margin. Trump won… by about 30 points,” he continued.

Carlson then laid out a rather dark scenario that would see a different 2024 GOP candidate ultimately win the party’s presidential nomination.

Haley can only become the Republican nominee if primary voters have no one else to vote for. The plan works like this: Ron DeSantis drops out after losing a few contests in a row, he simply uns out of money and has to head back to Florida,” he predicted.

“At that point, liberal donors swing as a bloc to Nikki Haley, giving her bottomless resources, that is already happening right now. And critically, Donald Trump goes to jail. That could happen too, to be honest. At that point, bam, Nikki Haley wins the Republican nomination by default,” he added.

Last month at an event, Carlson dropped a bombshell prediction about next year’s election that will truly be unprecedented — and potentially frightening — if it comes true.

He began by acknowledging that everyone he knows and has spoken to lately is “angry and paranoid.” He clarified that these individuals are not inclined towards conspiracy theories but are regular people expressing concerns about the state of affairs in the country.

“I flew out here across the country this morning and spent five hours texting people … and I gotta tell you, every single person I texted, except my wife — who’s not on the internet at all — was angry and paranoid,” Carlson said.

“Seriously, and these are not crazy people. These are normal, good people with kids and stuff. With a vested interest in Americans’ success. These are not the burn-it-down caucus. These are the, you know, these are the people you want voting,” he added.

Continuing, Carlson emphasized that, in his “assessment” of their perspectives, he believes their feelings are entirely justified. He pointed out that the growing tension within America is likely to spill over into the next year as the U.S. approaches an intense election season.

“And I have to say, after assessing their views for five hours, I think they were justified in both. They had every reason to be angry and all the evidence required to become paranoid,” Carlson added. “I’m just telling you once again, what you already know, which is, this is going to be — the next year is going to be, I think I’d bet my house on it, really like nothing we’ve ever seen in the country. And everyone can kind of feel that. You know, most of our perceptions come through intuition rather than reason.”
