Trump Offers Insider Perspective on Biden's White House Cocaine Scandal

Former President Donald Trump offered an insider’s skeptical response following the Secret Service’s announcement late last week the agency could not identify a suspect who brought cocaine into the White House.

During an interview with Maria Bartiromo on “Sunday Morning Futures,” Trump rejected officials claiming ignorance about the ownership of a substance found near the West Executive entrance of the White House in the Situation Room.

“You know how many cameras they have opposite the front door of the Situation Room?” Trump asked.

“I’ve gotten to know the Secret Service really well, and I can’t speak more highly of these people, they are incredible people,” Trump added. “And I believe that they know everything – they’re really smart and good at what they do.”

A bag of cocaine was discovered at the White House in July, and last week, the Secret Service revealed their inability to determine the owner of the illicit substance.

The Secret Service said in a statement Thursday that their investigation “included a backwards examination that spanned several days prior to the discovery of the substance and developed an index of several hundred individuals who may have accessed the area where the substance was found.”

Investigators developed “a pool of known persons for comparison of forensic evidence gleaned from the FBI’s analysis of the substance’s packaging,” the Secret Service said. The investigation”did not develop latent fingerprints, and insufficient DNA was present for investigative comparisons,” they added.

Trump, however, wasn’t buying it.

“I don’t think it’s possible for bags of cocaine to be left in a certain area, in the Situation Room,” he added. “I’m not talking about five blocks away, the Situation Room, where you decide on war, where you decide on nuclear.”

Meanwhile, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) is urging the Secret Service to provide Congress with more information regarding the recent discovery of a bag of cocaine inside the Biden White House, Fox News Digital reports. The issue becomes more troubling once one realizes that the son of President Biden is a known drug addict.

In a letter to Secret Service Director Kim Cheatle, Comer described the incident as “shameful” and called for a staff-level briefing on the matter by next week.

Comer emphasized the need for the committee to assess White House security practices and identify any failures that led to the illegal substance being found, stating that additional information is required.

“This alarming development requires the Committee to assess White House security practices and determine whose failures led to an evacuation of the building and finding of the illegal substance,” Comer wrote.

Comer further raised questions about the level of security maintained at the White House, requesting a staff-level briefing by July 14, 2023, to aid the committee’s investigation.
