Taylor Greene Files Complaint Against DA Fani Willis Following Damning Reports

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) has filed a complaint against Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis following allegations of improprieties contained in a court filing earlier this month.

Court papers submitted earlier this month state that Willis appointed special prosecutor Nathan Wade, who is allegedly her romantic partner, to handle the prosecution of Trump. These documents also suggest that she obtained financial benefits from this relationship, including extravagant vacations funded by the fees paid to his firm for their work on the case. Willis has not officially acknowledged or refuted these allegations, Fox News reported last week.

Wade’s firm has been paid more than $650,000 and his billing records include trips to the White House and Athens, Ga., to meet with members of President Joe Biden’s administration, reports have claimed.

Greene has submitted an official complaint to Gov. Brian Kemp (R) and the Republican Attorney General, Chris Carr. In her complaint, the Georgia Republican is urging them to investigate allegations of political bias on the part of the Democratic DA. Kemp, however, has already said he won’t act and instructed Greene to file with a state ethics committee formed as part of legislation Kemp signed last year.

In her complaint, Greene has asserted that if the allegations are accurate, it would reveal “Fani Willis’ serious lawlessness, including potential violation of public oath,” in addition to other laws of Georgia.

Willis charged former President Donald Trump and 19 others with RICO-related allegations over their efforts to overturn the 2020 election in the state. Trump’s co-defendant, Michael Roman, first made claims against Willis in a motion filed earlier this month. Roman wants the District Attorney’s office, Wade, and Willis removed from the case.

“Admittedly, this is a bold allegation considering it is directed to one of the most powerful people in the State of Georgia, the Fulton County District Attorney. Nevertheless, the district attorney’s fame and power do not change the fact that she decided to appoint as the special prosecutor a person with whom she had a personal relationship and who is now leading the day-to-day prosecution of this case,” Roman’s attorney wrote in the motion.
