According to a new poll by Remington Research, as exclusively reported by The Daily Wire, Democrats are trailing Republicans in several key states, amplifying concerns as President Joe Biden faces significant challenges following last week’s presidential debate.
The polls covering Arizona, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Wisconsin indicate that Republican candidates are generally outperforming their Democratic counterparts. This trend is partly attributed to broader issues within the Democratic Party, including controversial regulations targeting gas, diesel, and hybrid vehicles to promote electric ones.
Remington Research conducted polls across several states from June 29 to July 1, finding that Trump leads Biden by margins ranging from three points in Michigan to 20 points in Montana, within a 4-point margin of error. The polling also reveals that in these states, Democrats are losing at least a plurality of voters to Republican candidates in U.S. House races. However, Senate race results are varied: Democrats are ahead in Michigan, Nevada, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, while Republicans lead in Montana and Texas. Senate races in Arizona and Wisconsin show a tie.
The poll also surveyed voters regarding legislative and regulatory efforts to restrict or ban the production of new gas, diesel, and hybrid vehicles. These initiatives, pursued by the Biden administration and about a dozen states, aim to boost the production of electric vehicles. According to the poll, voters overwhelmingly oppose these new regulations.
“Democrats are either ignoring or failing to grasp that it’s far more than a bad debate performance that is unpopular with voters. It has been and continues to be the extreme policies of the Biden-Harris Administration that is their largest vulnerability, such as their radical mandate to ban gas-powered vehicles,” Republican political strategist Chris Pack told The Daily Wire in a statement.
While the polling results between major party candidates were generally within the margin of error, the responses to anti-fossil fuel policies related to vehicle manufacturing were decisively negative. Approximately 60% of voters in each state opposed the regulations, about 20% supported them, and roughly another 20% were unsure.
