UK rock and roll legend Noel Gallagher slammed celebrity Sam Smith in a radio interview, where he did not use Smith’s preferred pronouns of “they/them.”

In a Ditch radio interview, Gallagher, 55, referred to Smith as a “him,” when he called the queer singer a “@!&# idiot.”

Noel was discussing the “current state of pop music” when he singled out Smith.

“Music has become quite fractured and chart music is dominated by pop. Pop music is alright if the pop stars are cool. Sadly the stars of today are @!&# idiots.”

When asked specifically what star was uncool, he said “Sam Smith.”

Smith told the world that Smith wanted to change Smith’s pronouns to “they/them.”

“I’m so excited and privileged to be surrounded by people that support me in this decision but I’ve been very nervous about announcing this because I care too much about what people think but f**k it!” Smith said at the time.

“I understand there will be many mistakes and misgendering but all I ask is you please please try. I hope you can see me like I see myself now.”

Smith has previously expressed that Smith has had difficulty in public with pronouns and has been disrespected directly.

He told Zane Lowe: “I think all the only negatives in the struggle have been in my public life and my job. And just the amount of hate and @!&# that came my way was just exhausting.

“It was in the @!&# news. Someone spat at me in the street. It’s crazy. What I find hard about it is it’s like, if that’s happening to me and I’m famous, I’m a pop star, can you imagine what other kids, like queer kids are feeling?” Smith said.

“And it’s just so sad that we’re in 2023 and it’s still happening. It’s exhausting and especially in England.”
