The Biden border crisis continues to get out of hand, and now, crossings for the month of March have reached the highest level in 15 years.

The Washington Post reports:

More than 171,000 migrants were taken into custody along the U.S. southern border in March, the highest monthly total since 2006, according to preliminary U.S. Customs and Border Protection data reviewed by The Washington Post.

The extraordinary increase — up from 78,442 in January — underscores the magnitude of the challenge facing the Biden administration, especially as it races to add emergency shelter capacity for an unprecedented number of teenagers and children crossing without their parents.

U.S. Customs and Border Patrol took in 18,800 unaccompanied minors—a 99 percent increase from February. Family groups increased to 53,000 in March, which is up from 19,246 in February and just 7,294 in January, according to preliminary numbers.

Border-state congressman, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX), who traveled to the border this week, told Breitbart News that many border patrol officers, who felt that President Trump had things “under control” at the border, are now considering retiring or resigning from their positions.

“One of them, who was a high-ranking border patrolman, he indicated he’s retiring because he just can’t take this anymore.”

“He said if Trump were reelected, he would have stayed,” he said.

“We’re losing control of our country, and it’s happening more quickly than ever the Biden administration is willing to realize and acknowledge,” Gohmert told the publication.

“It’s just out of control and he cannot handle this continued assault on America across our border and our hands being tied and not allowed to do anything about it.”
