Obama Concerned About Biden's Re-Electability in 2024, Says Dems 'Could Very Well Lose'

The Wall Street Journal reported that former President Barack Obama is growing concerned about President Biden’s chances of winning re-election in 2024.

According to an insider, Obama acknowledges that the race will be close and fears that Democrats could lose. He is reportedly worried about the potential return of a Republican presidency, particularly if current polls, indicating a second term for GOP frontrunner Donald Trump, hold true. Obama is said to view the alternative to Biden on the Republican side as “pretty dangerous for democracy.”

The concern comes amid Biden’s consistently low approval ratings and slipping poll numbers, especially in hypothetical matchups with GOP contenders.

A recent Monmouth University poll recorded Biden’s approval at an all-time low of 34%, with 61% expressing disapproval. The president’s handling of immigration (26%) and inflation (28%) received particularly low marks in the poll.

Despite these challenges, some believe that the Obamas will rally in support of Biden as the 2024 election approaches. Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer suggested that it is too early to predict outcomes, and the numbers could change. Biden’s approval ratings have been negatively impacted by issues such as inflation, immigration, and the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, leading to internal party disagreements and concerns about the economy.

Recent Fox News polls indicate Biden trailing behind top Republican contenders, including Donald Trump and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley. Trump leads the GOP field, with Haley holding a six-point lead over Biden. Biden is also deadlocked with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, another prominent Republican candidate.

Overall, the political landscape appears uncertain, with Obama’s reported anxiety reflecting broader Democratic concerns about the upcoming election. As Biden faces challenges from both within his party and the broader political landscape, the support of influential figures like Obama could play a pivotal role in shaping the Democrats’ strategy and electoral prospects.
