Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) says Republicans may be pressured to impeach President Joe Biden if the party regains control of the House of Representatives in 2022.
Currently, Democrats have 221 seats in the House of Representatives and Republicans have 211, so it wouldn’t be far-fetched for the GOP to pick up another handful of seats during the midterms.
Fox News reports, “The campaign arm for House Republicans is spotlighting 47 seats currently held by what they consider to be ‘vulnerable Democrats’ that they see as ‘prime pick-up opportunities’ for the GOP in the 2022 midterm elections.”
Speaking to Sean Hannity last night, Nunes said, “If we start to get good information out to the American people, Republicans have a good chance of taking the House in 2022.”
“Now, if that happens, and let’s — for example, we don’t know what’s going to happen to Hunter Biden’s laptop. We don’t know what’s going to happen with the Durham investigation. But I could see pressure would become great for us to actually have to impeach Biden,” he said.
While Nunes said he wouldn’t want to impeach Biden, “you’re going to have people that are going to say that.”
