Former President Donald Trump was not expected to show up at the Republican National Convention until he was scheduled to speak on Thursday, the final night of the four-day nominating event.

However, when he unexpectedly appeared on Monday, it wasn’t the element of surprise that resonated with the delegates and attendees. It was his mere presence, his manner of walk, the bandage around his ear, the raised fist in the air, and his decision to attend the convention just days after narrowly escaping death in a failed assassination attempt, the Daily Caller reported.

Over several days, social media has been abuzz with simulations, photos, and diagrams showcasing the nearness of Trump’s demise. For Trump, it was nothing short of divine providence, as he wrote on Truth Social.

In recent days, his confidants have frequently discussed this topic, many of whom have described a newfound strength and determination emanating from him. They have noted a remarkable resolve on his part to face any moment with fortitude, both in his facial expressions and his voice, the outlet reported.

“By the end of [Monday] night, I was able to work up to the rope line. So when he came down off the stairs and walked through, he saw me. He came up to me and put his hand through Secret Service to shake my hand. He looked me right in the eye. He said, ‘That was a heck of a day, wasn’t it? I said, yes, it was, sir,’” Blake Marnell, a California delegate often seen at Trump rallies donning a brick suit, told the Caller. “The truth is, he’s a heck of a guy, and we’re lucky to have him.”

Following the shooting that resulted in the death of one individual and critical injuries to two others, Trump suggested that his own survival was due to a divine intervention. Trump revealed to the Washington Examiner that he altered his speech from a scathing attack on the Biden administration to a message emphasizing unity and drawing the nation closer together, spurred by his brush with death.

“I haven’t talked directly to the president. But I’ve spoken with my colleagues and I actually had a good long conversation with [Rep.] Ronnie Jackson, who spent the day after the shooting with President Trump. And he said he’s a very different person,” New York Rep. Claudia Tenney (R) told the Caller. “I think he understands and realizes that was an act of God, and he was saved by God. I mean, just the fact that he turned his head.”
