Homan: We Will Keep Prosecuting Judges Who Stand In ICE’s Way

President Donald Trump’s Border Czar Tom Homan gave a stark warning to judges and other law enforcement officials if they want to stand in the way of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deportations.
The announcement came during a press conference on Monday with White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, and it followed the arrest of two judges and a threat from another that she would not cooperate with ICE in her courtroom.
“As far as judges, we just arrested a judge — Pam Bondi, for impeding ICE enforcement. You don’t have to support ICE’s operations. You can support sanctuary cities if you desire to do. Sanctuary cities will stand aside and watch ICE keep their community safe. Any public official, the mayor, city councilman, governor, they have a responsibility to protect the community. ICE is clear, we’re targeting public safety threats and targeting national security threats. I can’t believe any elected official, especially a judge, doesn’t believe that. They should be helping us,” the border czar said.
“I said from day one, you can sit aside, argue against us, protest all you want. But when you cross that line to impediment or knowingly harboring or concealing an illegal alien from ICE, you will be prosecuted, judge or not,” he said.
“And as far as releasing so many people, the Biden administration released millions into the United States. Nobody talks about it. I will talk about it. Why release people into the interior of the U.S.? Why not put them in an empty ICE bed at $127 per night, rather than a hotel at $500 per night? They did it on purpose. Because if you put them in an ICE detention bed, they get a hearing in 35 days. Nine out of ten claiming asylum get an order of removal, and they are gone. If you release them and put them in a hotel room at $500 per night, their hearing could be 5-7 years, with appeals. And what do they hope for then? Another Democratic administration is in power, and they can award amnesty to millions. This is about selling this country out for future political power. That’s what it was,” Homan said.
“The law says if you arrive without proper documents, you shall be detained. Not maybe, not thinking about it—shall. And that is what President Trump is doing. Catch and release is over. That is what the law says, and that is what we’ve done,” he said.
