Freedom Caucus Chairman Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) called for Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) to resign from her leadership position after she announced she will vote to impeach President Trump.
Biggs told the Washington Examiner’s Kerry Picket, “She should resign her position as a conference chair and should not be serving this conference. That’s it.”
He also told Fox News last night, “I don’t think she should be the chair of the Republican conference anymore. The reality is she’s not representing the conference; she’s not representing the Republican ideals.”
Cheney released a statement yesterday claiming that President Trump “summoned” the January 6 “mob” at the Capitol and “lit the flame of [the] attack.”
“The President could have immediately and forcefully intervened to stop the violence. He did not. There has never been a greater betrayal by a President of the United States of his office and his oath to the Constitution,” Cheney’s statement continued. “I will vote to impeach the President.”
A timeline from the National Pulse indicates that those who attended President Trump’s speech on Jan. 6 would not have made it to the Capitol in time for the beginning of the “breach” of the building.
Furthermore, during his speech, President Trump called for attendees to “peacefully and patriotically” make their voices heard.
Pres Trump’s real words on Jan 6:
“marching over to the Capitol building to PEACEFULLY and patriotically make your voices heard.”
Anyone saying Trump “incited” violence is a liar — and actually “inciting” dishonest division.
