Fox News Hosts Let Loose On Why Disney Booted Tim Allen From Latest ‘Toy Story’ Film

“Fox & Friends Weekend” host Rachel Campos-Duffy and her husband Sean Duffy, a former Republican congressman, lashed out at the Walt Disney Co. over the entertainment behemoth’s decision to dump comedic actor Tim Allen for Chris Evans to voice “Toy Story” character Buzz Lightyear in the franchise’s latest spinoff, “Lightyear.”

Disney execs said they replaced Allen because the spinoff Buzz character is different than the one voiced by the “Home Improvement” star. But the Fox News hosts weren’t buying that explanation one iota. In fact, they believe Disney’s uber-woke left-wing producers and executives made the decision because Allen is a right-leaning, self-avowed Republican.

“Why would they change the voice? Kids wanna hear the same voice in the toy that they heard in the movie,” Sean Duffy said on the couple’s podcast.

“That’s how dumb this is, they’re trying to come up with an excuse as for why they’re canceling Tim Allen,” he continued. “They couldn’t let the reason be he’s a Republican, they had to create some other reason as for why they were kicking him out.”

Campos Duffy suggested that few people really believe Disney’s excuse.

“Everyone knows that Tim Allen was basically canceled,” she said.

The couple also remarked that openly pro-life actress Patricia Heaton blasted Disney last month for the replacement as well, asking why the corporation would “completely castrate this iconic, beloved character.”

“Saw the trailer for Buzz Lightyear and all I can say is Disney/Pixar made a HUGE mistake in not casting my pal [Tim Allen],” Heaton said on Twitter, The Daily Wire reported. “Tim Allen in the role that he originated, the role that he owns. Tim IS Buzz! Why would they completely castrate this iconic, beloved character?”

“Lightyear,” which includes a gay kiss between two female characters, has struggled at the box office.

John Nolte of Breitbart noted that Variety attempted to blame several factors including making a franchise too quickly and the current state of the economy, which he ridiculed. Rather, he blamed the movie’s very woke overtones.

“Kids are not ready for this, their parents certainly aren’t, and the crashing and burning of this $200 million piece of propaganda should tell you most people agree,” he wrote.

As for Allen, he’s back on TV with a new show on History Channel called “More Power” which airs Wednesdays at 10ET/9CT. The first episode aired on Wednesday.

“Tim Allen and Richard Karn are back in the shop to continue their quest for More Power. With the help of DIY Expert April Wilkerson, they’re putting all kinds of tools to the test. The trio will tackle one tool-centric theme per episode and celebrate the coolest, most powerful and iconic examples of each tool—testing their limits in a way that only Tim can,” The History Channel noted.

“Along the way, they’ll open the doors to Tim’s workshop and invite some of the most skilled makers from around the country to show off their creations before then heading out on field trips to play with the biggest machines that keep our world working,” the network said.
