In May 2022, he stated that he strongly believes in the right to bear arms as a safeguard against potential government tyranny. He also emphasized that throughout history, leaders who sought to maintain power over the people did not allow public ownership of guns.

Musk’s comments on the importance of the Second Amendment came in the wake of a tragic mass shooting at an elementary school in Texas. While he acknowledged the need for stricter background checks, he maintained that the Second Amendment remains essential.

Musk has also criticized the media in the past, stating that some mass shooters are seeking to generate as much attention as possible through their actions. Additionally, he shared a meme on Twitter in May to support the Second Amendment, highlighting the importance of both the First and Second Amendments.

In the meme, the First Amendment is for sharing memes with friends, and the Second Amendment is for defending the right to share memes with friends.
