Detransitioner Chloe Cole Filing Suit Against Kaiser Permanente For ‘Medical Negligence’

An 18-year-old woman named Chloe Cole, who has undergone detransitioning, has announced the filing of the first official lawsuit in the United States against the hospital and related medical group that enabled her medical transition while she was still a minor.

The Dhillon Law Group, LiMandri & Jonna LLP, and the Center for American Liberty have jointly initiated legal action against the Permanente Medical Group, Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, and Kaiser Foundation Hospitals. The lawsuit claims that the medical group and its affiliated institutions provided chemical and surgical sex change treatments to Chloe Cole during her teenage years, between the ages of 13 and 16, and were medically negligent in doing so, according to The Daily Wire.

“Chloe’s family sought medical treatment for her at Kaiser,” Harmeet K. Dhillon, attorney and CEO of the Center for American Liberty, said in a statement, the outlet noted. “Her physicians and other medical professionals violated the first norm of the profession, the Hippocratic Oath, when, instead of caring for her and providing medically competent diagnoses and treatment, they permanently disfigured her for profit.

“What happened to Chloe at Kaiser should never happen to any child in America, and the Center for American Liberty is committed to protecting children like Chloe,” Dhillon noted further.

Following the issuance of a Notice of Intent to Sue on November 9, 2022, the defendants failed to respond for more than 90 days, leaving Chloe Cole with no recourse other than to seek legal action, as indicated in the press release. The lawsuit contends that the defendants compelled Cole to undergo permanent chemical and surgical procedures between the ages of 13 and 16, while simultaneously withholding less intrusive treatments and providing false information about her situation.

At a Thursday afternoon press conference outside the Kaiser Gender Pathways Clinic in Oakland, Calif., where Cole received a portion of her medical treatment while still a minor, she, along with Dhillon, delivered a passionate address at the event, charging Kaiser with “victimizing thousands of children” through “Mengele-style experiments.”

“I was fifteen when you cut into my body, ripped out my breasts and stitched me back up like I was your rag doll,” Cole said. “You are on the wrong side of history and will always be remembered as child butchers.

“Once I announced my intention to seek justice, I have not stopped receiving call after call, email after email, of parents and patients that have been harmed by these same practices, some of them even were butchered in the same building I was,” she noted further.

Charles LiMandri, a partner at LiMandri & Jonna LLP, said he believes that Cole became a victim of “ideological and profit-driven medical abuse” which he said included indoctrination into leftist transgender ideology, off-label use of puberty-blocking drugs and cross-sex hormones, and a double mastectomy surgery that resulted “in excruciating pain and suffering, permanent disfigurement, loss of enjoyment of life, and extreme emotional distress.”

“We are proud to represent this courageous young woman who is trying to help other young people from also being victimized in this horrible manner,” said LiMandri.
