After Bush’s campaign wrote the most recent checks for her security, she refused to reverse her calls for defunding police, even though such ignorance makes more sensible, moderate Democrats wince ahead of 2022 midterm elections they believe are going to be brutal for the party as-is.

“I always tell [fellow Democrats], ‘If you all had fixed this before I got here, I wouldn’t have to say these things,'” the ‘Squad’ member told Axios in February — whatever “fixed” means.

She went on to deflect, saying her lunacy in seeking to get rid of law enforcement isn’t what’s problematic — it’s Dems not delivering on the pledge.

Oh.

Fox News first reported on Bush’s payments to a private security firm in July 2021, which then led to questions from CBS News about the money being spent and whether she had any inkling as to how hypocritical it is to demand the demise of police departments while ensuring she had plenty of armed security.

“They would rather I die?” Bush asked. “You would rather me die? Is that what you want to see? You want to see me die? You know, because that could be the alternative.”

Literally, no one has publicly called for Cori Bush’s death, but since she brought it up, a counter-query to her argument might have been something like, “So — do you want to see the St. Louisans you represent die? Because that’s what will happen if there are no police to keep the barbarians from the gate.”

She went on to arrogantly say she would ensure she has plenty of security using the excuse that she has had attempts on her life (without providing any proof — or news reports indicating as much) and has “too much work to do.”

“So suck it up, and defunding the police has to happen,” she added.

Way to go, St. Louis; you literally elected someone to ‘represent’ you who legitimately believes her life is more important than yours.
