Biden Will Finish Section of Trump's Wall at Southern US Border

President Joe Biden will build a section of the Trump administration’s border wall that separates San Diego, California from Tijuana, Baja California in Mexico.

According to a local news outlet, the wall will go up at the westernmost edge of the US-Mexico border at a location called Friendship Park, where “where families can see and talk to each other through the fence, despite standing on land in two separate nations.”

The Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas gave the project the green light, which will replace the current barriers with two 30-foot doorless walls.

The plans, originally part of the Trump administration’s Fiscal Year 2018 budget, will effectively close Friendship Park on the American side, Daily Mail reports.

“Joe Biden should not be putting the finishing touches on Donald Trump’s border wall at Friendship Park,” the convener of the Friends of Friendship Park coalition, John Fanestil, said.

This is not the first time that Biden has completed a section of Trump’s wall. In May, Biden put up a 13-mile stretch of wall near the Rio Grande Valey. Biden said that the construction of those walls were simply for maintenance to replace existing walls. This despite Biden’s day-one action of signing an executive order to cancel all construction of the Trump border wall.
