Elon Musk has accused five ActBlue-funded organizations of orchestrating protests at Tesla dealerships across the country. The demonstrations come as Musk faces increasing backlash from Democrats over his efforts with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to reduce government bureaucracy.
Musk identified the groups as Troublemakers, Disruption Project, Rise & Resist, Indivisible Project, and the Democratic Socialists of America. He also named major ActBlue donors, including George Soros, Reid Hoffman, Herbert Sandler, Patricia Bauman, and Leah Hunt-Hendrix.
“ActBlue is currently under investigation for allowing foreign and illegal donations in criminal violation of campaign finance regulations. This week, 7 ActBlue senior officials resigned, including the associate general counsel,” Musk posted on X.
The Democratic fundraising platform has been in turmoil following the resignation of several senior officials. Questions have been raised regarding the legitimacy of some donations processed through ActBlue, with House Republicans previously requesting information on the organization’s security measures and fraud prevention practices.
Protests against Tesla have taken place in several cities, including New York, Boston, and Portland.
Activists in Manhattan were recently seen holding signs comparing Musk to Adolf Hitler and expressing support for Ukraine as part of the #TeslaTakedown movement.
Demonstrations have also been reported in California, Florida, and other locations.
Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in February, Musk dismissed the protests as staged events.
“At this point, I’m not sure how much of the left is even real,” he said.
