Newly appointed House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) blasted President Joe Biden after reports noted aides and a lawyer discovered two separate stashes of classified documents that he may not be legally permitted to possess.
Reports earlier this week said that the first batch was found in his private office at the Penn Biden Center in Washington, D.C., just days before the November midterms. And a report on Wednesday said that another stash was discovered in the garage of one of his homes where he keeps his vintage Corvette.
The president was called out about the most recent discovery by Fox News’ Peter Doocy on Thursday:
DOOCY: "Classified materials next to your Corvette?! What were you thinking?"
BIDEN: "My Corvette's in a locked garage so it's not like it's sitting on the street."
DOOCY: "So the material was in a locked garage?"
BIDEN: "Yes— as well as my Corvette."

In an interview on “Fox & Friends” Thursday morning, Jordan “joined the chorus of critics blasting the ‘obvious’ double standard and demanded answers to the ‘tons’ of questions surrounding President Biden’s classified documents stash,” the outlet reported.
“I think a ton of questions. You know, like the basic where’s the raid? Where’s the pictures? Where’s the special counsel? What’s a batch? What’s that mean? We know it’s more than one,” he said.
“So is this two documents? Is this 2,000 documents? What’s the location? Why was it lawyers doing the moving from the first location. I mean, normally when we move something, you get your relatives together, you buy pizza and you get a truck and you move things,” he continued.
“But no, they had lawyers in there packing boxes and looking at things. So I think there are tons of questions. And maybe the most important is why did they wait to tell us? And frankly, what’s happened since November 2nd until January 10th, January 11th, when we learned this information. So I think there’s just tons of questions we have,” the Ohio Republican continued.
“The press was all over this when it was President Trump. So, again, I think the double standard is obvious. And then the tons of questions I think every American has,” he said.

The Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government passed the House 221-211 and will be led by Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, who will also chair the full Judiciary Committee. The subcommittee will consist of 15 members– nine Republicans and six Democrats.
The panel is expected to investigate not only how the executive branch has gathered information on citizens, but how it has worked with other bodies – including private sector companies – to “facilitate action against American citizens.”
The resolution further notes that the panel will investigate how the executive branch agencies “collect, compile, analyze, use, or disseminate information about citizens of the United States, including any unconstitutional, illegal, or unethical activities committed against citizens of the United States.”
The subcommittee’s work would include “a full and complete investigation and study,” with a final report to be submitted by Jan. 2, 2025, just ahead of the next Congress.
House Republican Conference chairwoman Elise Stefanik of New York told the outlet, “House Republicans are committed to ending the political weaponization of the FBI and DOJ’s abuse of power and restoring a government accountable to the people.”
