Education Secretary Refuses to Answer How Many Genders Exist During Exchange with Congresswoman

With all the political correctness, not even Biden’s own education secretary can answer the question as to “how many genders there are.” In a testy exchange with Republican congresswoman Mary Miller from Illinois, education secretary Miguel Cardona stated, “I won’t be answering your question.”

It was during a House Education and Labor Committee hearing on the priorities of the Department of Education that Rep. Miller asked Cardona about so-called “educational” materials that were send to students and families titled “Confronting Anti-LGBTQI+ Harassment in schools.”

Miller brought up one of the examples of harassment in the material which depicted a teacher telling a student who “identifies as nonbinary” that there are only two genders. “Before we start penalizing teachers for stating a genetic and biological fact about genders, can you please clarify for the committee how many genders are there?” asked Congresswoman Miller.

Cardona responded, “So, I know what you’re asking, but I’m going to get to the root of what you’re asking. I feel very strongly that as educators, it’s our responsibility to protect all students.” Referring again to the document, Miller pressed, “that is an example under your leadership that you are putting out to people. How many genders are there?”

Cardona deflected and Miller continued to question the Secretary. Finally Cardona fired back, “I won’t be answering your question. You can continue your line of questioning.” Cardona, however, was more courteous than his boss, President Biden, when he was asked the same question on the campaign trail.

In 2019, then candidate Biden answered the question stating, “there are at least three. Don’t play games with me, kid” he said to the conservative activist asking the question.
