White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre faced tough questions regarding the administration’s policy on allowing family members to attend state dinners, Fox News Digital reports.
The inquiry was seen as a reference to President Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, who was included among the guests at a recent White House state dinner, just days after he publicly admitted guilt to two misdemeanor counts of willful failure to pay federal income tax.
Karine Jean-Pierre again claims Biden reduced the deficit by "$1.7 trillion in the first two years."

Hunter Biden reportedly managed to avoid prosecution on a felony gun charge that could have resulted in imprisonment.
While it is customary for presidents to invite family members to White House events, concerns were raised about whether any additional precautions were implemented given the circumstances.
The reporter specifically asked if the president had instructed his family members not to conduct business on White House grounds and inquired about the existence of any guardrails:

“I’m curious though, in light of some of the recent legal controversy, if the president communicated to members of his family not to conduct business on White House grounds? Can you tell us about any kinds of guardrails that are up?” the reporter asked.
In response, Jean-Pierre evaded the question, citing the ongoing Department of Justice investigation as the reason for her silence. She emphasized that the administration has been transparent about its commitment to ethical conduct and has established strict rules to ensure adherence.
Here’s what they aren’t saying:

“We have laid out very early on in this administration when it comes to ethics, when it comes to how we move about and how … we respect clearly the government ethics here, this administration had been incredibly transparent on that and has put [in place] some very strict rules,” she said.
“I can speak to how the president has moved forward in making sure that the people who work for him and himself are held to a strict course of action, but I’m not going to speak to anything that’s related to the case.”
When pressed for answers regarding guardrails for the president’s family, Jean-Pierre reiterated her refusal to discuss matters related to the ongoing investigation.

She emphasized the administration’s dedication to ethics and stated that they take the matter very seriously.
Fox News Digital reached out to the White House for additional comments, but no response has been received as of yet.
