Poll: Majority of Americans, Including 42% of Democrats, Favor Mass Deportations of Illegal Immigrants

A majority of Americans, including significant portions of Democrats, are expressing support for mass deportations of illegal immigrants, a stance advocated by former President Donald Trump. The sentiment comes amid escalating concerns over the surge in illegal immigration during President Joe Biden’s administration.

In a recent Axios Vibes survey conducted by The Harris Poll, findings reveal a notable shift in public opinion towards endorsing mass deportations and stricter border policies akin to those implemented during Trump’s tenure. The survey indicates that 68 percent of Republicans, 42 percent of Democrats, and 46 percent of Independents favor mass deportations.

Moreover, a significant portion of respondents, comprising 32 percent, attribute the surge in illegal immigration to Biden’s administration. Interestingly, both Democrats and Republicans express support for ending birthright citizenship, with 30 percent of Democrats and 46 percent of Republicans favoring its cessation—a right established under the 14th Amendment.

As illegal immigration continues to escalate, public perception of the issue has gained prominence. Recent polling suggests that voters place greater trust in Trump’s ability to address illegal immigration and secure the border compared to Biden.

Trump has reiterated his commitment to instituting mass deportations, pledging to do so upon returning to office. He vowed to revoke Biden’s Open Borders policies, halt the southern border influx, and initiate what he described as the “largest domestic deportation operation in American history.”

The survey period, spanning from March 29 to April 14, sampled over 6,251 adults across the US. Conducted online, the survey reflects a growing concern among Americans regarding illegal immigration and border security.
