Philly Dashcam Footage Shows Driver Open Fire on Armed Man Approaching his Car

Philadelphia authorities are on the hunt for two individuals following a disturbing incident captured on dashcam footage Friday night. Responding to a call reporting a highway shooting at approximately 9:40 p.m. on Friday, police found a 31-year-old man inside his vehicle, critically wounded by a gunshot to the chest, Fox reports.

The retrieved dashcam footage revealed a black Nissan Murano pausing at a traffic light at the junction of Old York Road and Cheltenham Avenue. After a brief moment, the car’s rear lights indicated it was shifting to park. Subsequently, a Black man emerged from the front passenger side, brandishing a handgun and advancing towards the victim’s vehicle.

Upon noticing the driver’s firearm, the armed assailant swiftly retreated, firing at least two rounds before rejoining the Murano. In response, shots were fired from the victim’s vehicle as the Murano hastily departed the scene.

One suspect, described as a Black man wearing a black Balaclava-style mask, a black zip-up jacket, and other distinctive attire, remains at large, alongside his accomplice, described as a Black man with a robust build and specific clothing items. The perpetrators fled north on Old York Road into Cheltenham Township.

Authorities caution against approaching the suspects and urge individuals to contact 911 immediately upon sighting them. Additionally, anyone possessing relevant information is encouraged to reach out via the confidential hotline at 215-686-TIPS (8477).
