Witness: Joe Biden Spoke To Hunter Biden's Business Associations, Debunking President

During his 2020 campaign, Joe Biden routinely denied that he was involved in any of his son’s shady business dealings and had no knowledge of them whatsoever. He said the same thing after becoming president.

While recently revealed evidence appears to debunk that claim, Republicans say they’ve found more smoking gun evidence to refute it from yet another witness, Fox News reported on Monday.

Two lawmakers revealed that Hunter Biden’s former business associate, Devon Archer, disclosed that Hunter occasionally placed then-Vice President Joe Biden on speakerphone during meetings with business partners.

Archer provided testimony to the House Oversight and Accountability Committee in a closed-door meeting. The committee is conducting an investigation into Hunter Biden and exploring any potential involvement his father, Joe Biden, may have had in his foreign business ventures.

According to one source reported by Fox News, Archer stated that Biden was put on the phone to “sell the brand.” These phone calls involved a dinner in Paris with a French energy company and another in China with Jonathan Li of BHR.

Archer asserted that the value of adding Hunter Biden to Burisma’s board was primarily due to “the brand,” with the argument being that then-Vice President Joe Biden brought the most value in that regard. Archer further stated that Burisma would have faced significant difficulties if it were not for the influence and association brought by “the brand” associated with the Biden name, Fox News added.

Archer’s comments created a division between Republicans and Democrats regarding whether they indicated close involvement between now-President Biden and his son’s business deals. The White House has consistently denied any such involvement.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., told Fox News Digital that Archer’s admission is evidence that Biden “lied” about not being engaged in his son’s foreign business dealings.

Greene, who said she wasn’t in the hearing but was getting regular updates from her staffers, said that Archer “said specifically, he heard Hunter Biden speak to Joe Biden more than 20 times” and said Archer recalled the conversations were “about their business deals.”

“Not about lunch or the weather or just getting dad on the phone. It’s about their business deals. He also said that the Bidens were in the business of influence peddling. And that is significant. Very significant,” Greene said.

“What that does is that proves Joe Biden lied…think about how significant that is. That means Kevin McCarthy calling for an impeachment inquiry is the right thing to do,” she said.
