Whoopie Goldberg Actually Did This After Letting Jane Fonda Get Away With Joke About 'Murdering' Pro-Lifers

On Tuesday, Whoopi Goldberg voiced her disapproval of a joke made by former Vice President Mike Pence regarding Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg just a few days after her fellow co-hosts dismissed a “joke” by Jane Fonda about murdering pro-lifers.

At the annual Gridiron Club dinner in Washington, D.C., Pence made a joke about Buttigieg, stating, “He took two months ‘maternity’ leave whereupon thousands of travelers were stranded in airports, the air traffic system shut down, and airplanes nearly collided on our runways. Pete is the only person in human history to have a child, and everyone else gets postpartum depression.”

Following Pence’s remarks, the White House demanded an apology, to which Pence’s team responded, “Spare America the faux outrage.” Goldberg reacted to this on Tuesday’s episode of “The View,” expressing her own outrage.

At the beginning of the segment, Whoopi repeated Pence’s joke, which was met with a slight chuckle from the audience. She then addressed the joke directly, emphasizing that it was not humorous.

Whoopi Goldberg continued her criticism, stating, “Now, I will point out that this joke wasn’t funny when Tucker Carlson did it, it wasn’t funny when Lauren Boebert did it, it’s just not funny. It’s just not a funny joke.” She went on to express her indignation that Pence didn’t come up with a more creative joke, stating, “It was sloppy and very lazy.”

During a previous episode of “The View” that Goldberg missed earlier this week, Fonda appeared as a guest and suggested that “murder” could be a potential solution if protests and rallies did not result in a return to abortion on demand. Her co-hosts found humor in Fonda’s comment and laughed it off.

“We have experienced many decades now of having agency over our body, of being able to determine when and how many children to have,” Fonda said in response to the recent reversal of the landmark abortion case Roe v Wade. “We know what that feels like, we know what that’s done for our lives. We’re not going back; I don’t care what the laws are. We’re not going back.”

Joy Behar questioned Fonda further, asking what her plan was if marching and protesting did not lead to the desired change.

“I’ve thought of murder,” Fonda said pointedly, who then glared at Joy Behar after she claimed it was just a joke.
