A former Democrat representing a red district in a deep blue state has lashed out at the administration of President Joe Biden, designating it the “worst” in the history of the country.
Rep. Jeff Van Drew of New Jersey, who famously left the Democratic Party to become a Republican, then to go on and handily win reelection last year, also vowed to fight the administration tooth and nail over plans to relocate illegal aliens into his district, which includes the Atlantic City International Airport, Fox News reported.
He also blasted Biden’s lax border enforcement policies that have led to record illegal immigration and drug smuggling, the latter of which results in the overdose deaths of nearly 100,000 Americans per year, according to government statistics.
“Hopefully, it won’t happen,” Van Drew said of the plan in an interview with “Fox & Friends” on Friday. “We’re going to fight this with every ounce of strength that we have. It is the wrong thing.
“You know, when we said what was happening at the southern border was going to affect the entire United States of America, this is what happens. I want people to listen out there,” he continued. “This is not just an Arizona problem, or a Texas problem, or a California problem. This is a United States of America problem.
“And now they want to come into our beautiful county, our beautiful South Jersey, and try to ruin that as well. There’s also a national defense issue here,” Van Drew continued. “This is a very, very important issue to understand. We have the FAA technical center there that’s doing very important work, some of which is very significant for the safety of this country and air flight. And we have our F-16s that are there as part of our defense, as well as part of the Air National Guard 177 fighter wing.
“They are the first line of defense for Washington, D.C. and New York City. This is a disaster in the making. I mean, this is the worst administration, I used to say, in my lifetime. Now, this is the worst administration in the history of the United States of America,” he added.

Meanwhile, Republican senators are outraged over the auctioning off of border wall materials designed to protect the U.S.-Mexico border, with demands for Biden to prioritize border security instead.
Recently, structural tubes and 30-foot panel hollow beams, each weighing up to 4,793 pounds, were sold on GovPlanet, an online auction site.
Listings showed the materials marked as “sold” with prices ranging from $25,000 to $50,000. Additional listings are scheduled for September 6, starting at $1,000 each.
Senator Roger Wicker, R-Mississippi, slammed the Biden administration’s decision, stating, “It’s outrageous that the Biden administration continues to press on with these fire sales of border wall panels. They should be put to use securing our border and protecting our homeland, not going to the scrap heap.”
Republican committee members have sent a letter to the secretary of defense requesting the immediate suspension of the sale of around $260 million worth of unused border wall materials.
