Warner Bros DUMPS Disgraced BLM Leader Patrisse Cullors Amid Multiple Scandals

According to a report from the New York Post, it has been revealed that Patrisse Cullors, the disgraced co-founder of Black Lives Matter (BLM), signed a multi-year contract with Warner Bros Television Group in October 2020 to develop content for the entertainment company. However, the relationship between Cullors and the studio quietly came to an end last year without any material being produced.

An inside source familiar with the situation informed the outlet that Warner Bros had signed an overall deal with Patrisse Cullors in 2020, but the contract expired at the end of October 2022. Unfortunately, the deal did not result in the creation of any shows or content as originally planned.

The agreement was a multi-year and multi-platform deal, where Cullors was supposed to produce original material focusing on black stories, including scripted comedies and dramas, animated shows, and documentary series. The content was intended for distribution on Warner Bros’ broadcast, cable, and streaming platforms. The exact value of the deal was not disclosed when Variety first reported on it in 2020.

Previously, Cullors had mentioned in an interview that she was working on projects for Warner Bros, including documentaries centered around reparations and social mobility for black Americans, as well as a scripted program about marijuana.

Patrisse Cullors stepped down from her position in BLM in May 2021 amidst a real-estate scandal. It was revealed that she had spent $3.2 million on four different homes in Georgia and California. Subsequently, further reports emerged regarding the alleged use of company funds for personal luxury by Black Lives Matter leadership.

Upon her resignation, Cullors stated that she wanted to focus on her book and TV deal. In April 2022, she expressed her concerns about the 990 tax forms required for charities, claiming they were triggering and being weaponized against organizations like hers. The IRS 990 forms are standard documents that charities must complete annually to disclose their financial activities.
