Just over one full year ago, Turning Point USA posted a video to Facebook May 3,, 2020 titled “China Lied, People Died: Inside China’s Death Labs.” The video gave compelling evidence as to how and why the theory that the novel coronavirus pandemic originated inside the Wuhan Institute of Virology labs.
Chinese State media CGTN Immediately hailed the video as “going viral across right-wing circles” and then attempted to point out “holes” in its content. It’s not surprising that China was defensive against the video, which was suspicious in and of itself, but America’s mainstream media joined in on the accusatory crazy right-wing train.
Not until Democratic President Biden acknowledged there may just be something to this lab-leak theory well over a year later did the media stop its attacks and censorship. In a nutshell, the United States media has been complicit in a Chinese propaganda campaign to potentially cover-up the origins of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Turning Point USA, President Trump, Senator Tom Cotton, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and many other conservatives get to say, “I told you so.” The Daily Caller News Foundation reports “now that the coronavirus origin lab-leak theory is gaining credibility, members of the ‘follow the science’ crowd are finally admitting they chose not to cover – or in some cases actively ‘debunked’ – the theory because former President Donald Trump pushed it.
Even “members of the media from various outlets have come out and stated their reluctance to cover the theory or desire to ‘debunk’ it without evidence stemmed, in large part, from Trump’s alleged record of floating false claims” writes DCNF.

Stephen Morrison of the Center for Strategic and International Studies told NPR that the theory had been dismissed not because of scientific evidence, but because it got grouped in with other “crazy” theories promoted by Trump. So, liberals were not “following the science” at all. They were only actively, and aggressively, “not following” Trump.
