Just over one full year ago, Turning Point USA posted a video to Facebook May 3,, 2020 titled “China Lied, People Died: Inside China’s Death Labs.” The video gave compelling evidence as to how and why the theory that the novel coronavirus pandemic originated inside the Wuhan Institute of Virology labs.
Chinese State media CGTN Immediately hailed the video as “going viral across right-wing circles” and then attempted to point out “holes” in its content. It’s not surprising that China was defensive against the video, which was suspicious in and of itself, but America’s mainstream media joined in on the accusatory crazy right-wing train.
Not until Democratic President Biden acknowledged there may just be something to this lab-leak theory well over a year later did the media stop its attacks and censorship. In a nutshell, the United States media has been complicit in a Chinese propaganda campaign to potentially cover-up the origins of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Turning Point USA, President Trump, Senator Tom Cotton, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and many other conservatives get to say, “I told you so.” The Daily Caller News Foundation reports “now that the coronavirus origin lab-leak theory is gaining credibility, members of the ‘follow the science’ crowd are finally admitting they chose not to cover – or in some cases actively ‘debunked’ – the theory because former President Donald Trump pushed it.
Even “members of the media from various outlets have come out and stated their reluctance to cover the theory or desire to ‘debunk’ it without evidence stemmed, in large part, from Trump’s alleged record of floating false claims” writes DCNF.
J. Stephen Morrison of the Center for Strategic and International Studies told NPR that the theory had been dismissed not because of scientific evidence, but because it got grouped in with other “crazy” theories promoted by Trump. So, liberals were not “following the science” at all. They were only actively, and aggressively, “not following” Trump.
Biden: 'I'm Not Going To Speak Out Against' China's Genocide Of Uighurs
During a CNN townhall in Milwaukee, President Joe Biden seemingly defended the genocide of Uighur Muslims in China by stating that “culturally, there are different norms that each country and their leaders are expected to follow,” so he’s “not going to speak out against” the Chinese Communist Party’s occupation of Hong Kong and Taiwan, or the genocide of the Uighurs.
“The central principle of Xi Jinping is that there must be a united, tightly controlled China. And he uses his rationale for the things he does based on that. I point out to him, no American president can be sustained as a president if he doesn’t reflect the values of the United States,” Biden said. “And so the idea I’m not going to speak out against what he’s doing in Hong Kong, what he’s doing with the Uighurs in western mountains of China, and Taiwan, trying to end the ‘One China’ policy by making it forceful, I said — by the way, he said he gets it. Culturally, there are different norms that each country and their leaders are expected to follow.”
Former Department of Defense chief of staff Kash Patel responded to Biden’s comments on Sunday, saying that “for the leader of the free world to say genocide is a cultural norm is outrageous.”
“They are in genocide in China against the Uyghurs. That is factually not in dispute. And for the leader of the free world to say genocide is a cultural norm is outrageous,” Patel said. “Could you imagine if President Trump had said publicly that the Uyghur genocide in China, which everyone acknowledges, is a cultural norm? It would have been a global calamity.”
“But because the left-wing media allows the politicization of our national security to continue just because Joe Biden said it, it allows for this outrageous conduct and, more importantly, the death and decimation of a minority population in China, who are encamped in fenced enclosures and cannot leave and are undergoing reeducation therapy,” he said. “This is a serious threat to the world.”
Over 500 U.S. Federally Funded Scientist May Be Compromised By China
The National Institutes of Health has revealed that an investigation is underway of more than 500 U.S. federally funded scientists that are feared to be compromised by China and other foreign powers.
There have been many instances of China trying to steal intellectual property from the United States.
The federal health officials told a Senate committee that they are fighting to keep up with large-scale Chinese efforts to corrupt American researchers and steal intellectual property that scientists hope will lead to biomedical advances.
NIH has contacted more than 90 institutions about more than 200 scientists they’re concerned about, said Dr. Michael S. Lauer, NIH deputy director for extramural research. But the investigations’ workload is weighing down the nation’s top medical research agency, and new cases are turning up constantly across the government.
The Justice Department charged a math professor and university researcher, Mingqing Xiao, on Wednesday with wire fraud over allegations that he hid his Chinese government funding while obtaining funding from the National Science Foundation.
The Southern Illinois University-Carbondale professor, Mingqing Xiao, worked in the mathematics department since 2000 and obtained the Chinese funding starting in 2018, the Justice Department said.
From farming to cancer, China has been targeting U.S. research. The Times pointed out, “Last year, Dr. Lauer said, more than 90% of the scientists under investigation had received support from China.”
