University of Chicago Students Start Newspaper to Fight Cancel Culture

Two students at the University of Chicago have created a digital newspaper to fight back against cancel culture on campus.

Audrey Unverferth and Evita Duffy wanted to highlight conservative and libertarian voices that are very much under attack by leftist ideology on campus right now. Their motto is “Outthink the mob,” with a mission that reads “We demand not be coddled. Embracing the experience of unfettered inquiry and free expression is  precisely the point of these years of intense study.”

Fox News reports:

The website caught the attention of the Wall Street Journal editorial board, who lauded the creation of a “new journal from students who refuse to be cancelled” in a column earlier this week.

“Self-censorship on campus has really become a sickness. I’ve experienced cancel culture, so has Audrey and other people we know, and at one point this summer, we said we are done,” Duffy told “Fox & Friends” host Steve Doocy on Thursday.

The students launched the website “to give people the courage to actually say what they think in the classroom, which is supposed to be the one place where you are supposed to think for yourself and have open debate,” Duffy explained.

Unverferth said a majority of the politically vocal student body on campus is “not supportive of our speech.”

Unfortunately as with most people who speak out, the girls have had their fair share of hate but Duffy said,  “I think what is more important than all the hate that we get from students is the amount of beautiful messages that we get from students and professors actually who are so happy that we are doing this, and giving them the courage to stand up.”

A Bill Pushing Left Leaning Politics Into the Classroom in Illinois Has Officially Passed

In an article we previously wrote concerning the Illinois State Board of Education passing a bill called “Culturally Responsive Teaching and Leading Standards  has officially been upheld by the Illinois Joint Committee on Administrative Rules (JCAR).

Some of the new standards include teachers assessing “how their biases affect how they access tools to mitigate their own behavior (racism, sexism, homophobia, unearned privilege, Eurocentrism, etc.)”

Bettina L. Love is a prominent advocate of Critical Race Theory in education and she believes “White Teachers Need Anti-Racist Therapy.”

If teachers do not do so voluntarily the new standards would allow schools to force teachers into therapy for their whiteness , along with punishing them with a loss of license and certification if complaints are made about them not adopting “progressive” ideologies. Teaching about “systemic racism” will be required as well.

Fox Illinois reports:

Some Republican lawmakers voiced their opposition to the standards earlier this month, saying they add unnecessary politics to the classroom.

Sen. Sue Rezin, R-Morris, said she asked ISBE to include more diverse perspectives on their task forces to avoid standards like this from being so controversial in the future, and said the board made some of the changes Republicans asked for.

Rezin said her office got an unusually high number of calls and emails about these standards.

These new teaching standards will take effect in October 2025.

Some lawmakers were not happy with the decision including Republican Candidate for Governor and Former Senator Paul Schimpf:

“I am extremely disappointed that JCAR approved the State Board of Education’s Culturally Responsive Teacher Standards. These standards politicize the teacher certification process and undermine the authority of local school boards, superintendents, and parents to control their children’s’ education. This is yet another example of top-down, administrative overreach by the Pritzker Administration and illustrates a clear example of why Illinois needs a new governor.”

Leftists Would Like to Know How to "Deprogram" and "Re-Educate" 75 Million Trump Supporters

In a tweet that has gone viral, David Atkins asked, how can you deprogram 75 million people.

Atkins wrote, “No seriously…how *do* you deprogram 75 million people? Where do you start? Fox? Facebook? We have to start thinking in terms of post-WWII Germany or Japan. Or the failures of Reconstruction in the South. This is not your standard partisan policy disagreement. This is a conspiracy theory fueled belligerent death cult against reality & basic decency. ”

Atkins didn’t stop there and went on to say “You can’t run on a civil war footing hopped up on conspiracy theories hating everyone who lives in cities, mainlining Fox/Breitbart/QAnon, threatening to kidnap governors and shoot protesters, without people trying to figure out how to reverse the brainwashing.”

The party that likes to call themselves tolerant and understanding seem to have a great deal of hatred for half the people of the United States. See some of their reactions to Atkins tweet below.

The list goes on and on. If any of these people were to really step back and listen to what they are saying, they would realize they are the fascist and want to exert full control over people. This is the same mindset that believes it is ok for Antifa to destroy cities across America.
