Can You Hack an Election in 7 Minutes?
Many Americans are sounding the alarm over concerns of fraud in the 2020 presidential election after it was revealed that Dominion Voting Systems machines were used in numerous key swing states. These concerns prompted Elections Canada to send out a tweet to reassure Canadians that they count their ballots by hand.

Natasha Gauthier, a spokesperson for Elections Canada, had this to say about the way they handle their elections, “Having an agency that is independent from the elected government, with a chief electoral officer who is appointed by Parliament as a whole, we are nonpartisan in everything that we do. We are removed from that politicization of the voting system that we see in the U.S.”
Dominion is not used in Canada’s federal elections although they have provided optical scan paper ballot tabulation systems for almost 150 municipal elections across the country and provincial elections in Ontario and New Brunswick.
In 2014, there were issues in the provincial election in New Brunswick with the machines. At the time, founding VP of Dominion, James Hoover, told the Globe and Mail the problem was caused by a “computer program configured to expedite the release of results to media servers and to the website of Elections New Brunswick.”
The company also supplies voting systems for Canada’s major party leadership elections, including for the Liberal Party of Canada, the Conservative Party of Canada, and the PC Party of Ontario.
The US really needs to rethink how we tally votes after the amount of fraud that took place in the 2020 election.
