Trump Says He'll Skip GOP Candidate Forum Interview With Tucker Carlson

Former President Donald Trump won’t be among a field of Republican presidential contenders interviewed by former Fox News star Tucker Carlson at an upcoming forum event.

Carlson “will sit down for one-on-one interviews with six presidential candidates in a forum hosted by Blaze Media and The Family Leader, a social conservative organization in Iowa. However, Trump has chosen not to be one of those candidates, The FAMiLY Leader CEO Bob Vander Plaats tweeted Tuesday morning,” the Daily Caller reported.

The candidates will include South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, former Vice President Mike Pence, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, according to Vander Plaats.

Iowa has officially set the date for its GOP caucus as January 15, marking the commencement of a countdown for candidates to gather and energize their supporters in preparation for the first election of the 2024 presidential campaign. According to the Des Moines Register, all GOP candidates, with the exception of former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, are expected to visit Iowa within the next three weeks, the first-in-the-nation state for the presidential campaign.

In national polls, Trump has consistently been leading the pack, surpassing other Republican candidates with an average of 53 percent in Real Clear Politics’ calculations.

Meanwhile, sources familiar with the situation have revealed that former President Donald Trump is contemplating the possibility of forgoing the initial GOP presidential debate in August and instead hosting his own event at the same time, NBC News reported last month.

“He is not going to debate unless he’s forced to by changing polling,” said a source who added they advised Trump to participate in the GOP debate. “I disagree with it, but it is where he is.”

Newsmax added: “The report comes a day after Trump complained on Truth Social that Fox News did not cover his recent speech in Michigan or his address to the Faith & Freedom Coalition Conference in Washington, D.C.”

“So FoxNews, which is down 37% in the Ratings, doesn’t cover my getting the ‘Man of the Decade’ Award (because of my great trade policies!) in Michigan, or my Keynote Speech for Faith & Freedom in D.C., and then wants me to show up and get them ratings for their “Presidential” Debate, where I’m leading the field by 40 points,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

“All they do is promote, against all hope, Ron DeSanctimonious, and he’s dropping like a rock. Sorry FoxNews, life doesn’t work that way!!” he added.
