Former President Donald Trump responded to a remark from Rep. Nancy Pelosi after he appeared in a federal courtroom on Thursday with a personal attack on her husband.
The former House speaker claimed that Trump looked like a “scared puppy” as he prepared to enter the courtroom to answer felony charges brought by special counsel Jack Smith in relation to the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol Building.
“I purposely didn’t comment on Nancy Pelosi’s very weird story concerning her husband, but now I can because she said something about me, with glee, that was really quite vicious,” Trump noted on his Truth Social platform.
Trump, the leading 2024 GOP candidate, entered a plea of not guilty to charges including conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding, and conspiracy against rights, Fox News reported.
“I saw a scared puppy,” Pelosi told MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports.”
“I didn’t see any bravado or confidence or anything like that,” she added. “He knows the truth that he lost the election, and now he’s got to face the music.”
Trump said in response that the “millions” of people watching him on TV as he entered the courtroom “didn’t see that.”
“I wasn’t ‘scared,’” he said.” Nevertheless, how mean a thing to say! She is a Wicked Witch whose husbands journey from hell starts and finishes with her. She is a sick & demented psycho who will someday live in HELL!”
On October 28, there was an alleged home invasion in San Francisco during which Pelosi’s husband, Paul, was attacked. The accused, David DePape, 42, is facing state charges of attempted murder and elder abuse, along with federal charges for kidnapping. Reports claimed at the time that DePape broke into the Pelosi residence and assaulted Paul using a hammer.
“Pelosi’s husband previously made headlines in May 2022 when he was arrested for causing a crash while driving drunk. He later pleaded guilty and was sentenced to serving five days in jail, followed by three years of probation,” Fox News noted further.
