Trump Rages Against Anti-Israel Protesters On College Campuses

Former President Donald Trump lashed out at the growing anti-Israel protests on college and university campuses across the country after calling out President Joe Biden last week for largely ignoring them.

“Stop the protests now!” Trump wrote Monday in all-caps on his Truth Social platform.

Although the presumptive 2024 Republican presidential nominee is not expected in the courtroom on Monday, he dedicated his morning to sharing his thoughts on his trial via Truth Social. Among his posts was a message concerning the students protesting Israel’s war against Hamas, the terrorist organization that governs Gaza.

The post emerges as the tally of students and antisemitic agitators detained during nationwide demonstrations nears 900, following the removal of an anti-Israel protest encampment at Columbia University by New York police on April 18.

“The students are protesting the rising death toll in Gaza amid Israel’s effort to eradicate Hamas, which carried out the deadliest attack in the country’s history on Oct. 7, 2023. The subsequent war has resulted in more than 34,000 deaths, mostly civilian women and children,” Fox News reported.

The anti-Israel groups are urging their respective colleges and universities to divest from companies that back Israel’s military and its actions in Gaza. Despite several schools requesting that students disband their encampments, students have opted to remain on campus.

Trump’s comment on Monday morning, along with others, including one about “Crooked Joe Biden,” who he called the “worst president in the history of the United States.” The 45th president also addressed the various lawsuits and legal cases he is facing, including the ongoing criminal trial in Manhattan, all of which he has labeled “election interference.”

There has been a surge in nationwide campus protests since the students at Columbia University set up a tent encampment at the center of their campus. Columbia is widely seen as the epicenter of the current protests. The protesting students have vowed to continue their encampment until the university divests from Israel.
