An attorney serving as Donald Trump’s official spokesperson regarding his various legal cases has brought up an issue with a Georgia sheriff who says he will be taking a mugshot of the former president when he surrenders to officials later this week following an indictment earlier this month.

Appearing on “Fox and Friends,” Alina Habba said Georgia authorities appeared too jubilant when it came to discussing Trump’s mugshot and booking procedure.

For example, during a discussion concerning security measures and procedures in the event of a Trump indictment—potentially involving aspects like a mugshot—the county’s Democratic sheriff, Pat Labat, appeared quite enthusiastic and even casually lighthearted during a press conference earlier this month.

“Unless somebody tells me differently, we are following our normal practices, and so it doesn’t matter your status, we’ll have a mugshot ready for you,” Labat told reporters.

Habba said that to her, it seemed as though he and other Georgia authorities appeared to be “enjoying their power too much.”

“You see that there’s, you know, a bit of an ego trip happening in Georgia where they’re saying that they’re gonna force him to have a mugshot,” Habba told “Fox and Friends” on Tuesday.

“The purpose of a mugshot is when you don’t recognize someone, [and] you think there’s a flight risk,” Habba said. “This man is the most famous person in the world, the leading candidate right now,” she added.

The Trump campaign has blasted Willis as a “rabid partisan who is campaigning and raising money on a platform of prosecuting President Trump through these bogus indictments” in a statement that was not attributed to a specific spokesperson.

“Ripping a page from Crooked Joe Biden’s playbook, Willis has strategically stalled her investigation to try and maximally interfere with the 2024 presidential race and damage the dominant Trump campaign. All of these corrupt Democrat attempts will fail,” the campaign said in a statement.
