Trump Holds Major Fundraising Lead Over Entire GOP Field

Former President Donald Trump is not only leading his GOP primary rivals in the polls by a significant amount, but he also has a massive fundraising advantage over them as well.

“The Trump campaign reported raising $24.5 million from the start of July through the end of September – about twice as much as any other GOP candidate. Trump also finished the quarter with an advantage in cash on hand with nearly $38 million,” The Daily Wire reported on Tuesday.

Biden, meanwhile, brought in about $25 million as his campaign also increased spending by nearly $13 million after spending just $1 million during the previous quarter. “The spending binge came at a time when his poll numbers have sagged over key issues such as immigration, the economy, and crime. Biden finished the quarter with more than $32 million cash on hand,” the outlet added.

As for the rest of the Republican field, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley are competing for second place, with DeSantis having raised about $15 million between his various political action committees during the third quarter. However, The Daily Wire said his campaign could be cash-strapped as the primaries get closer.

“The DeSantis campaign reported only $5 million available in his war chest for the primaries and $1 million in outstanding debt. The rest of his $12 million cash on hand is earmarked for the general,” the outlet reported.

Over the past quarter, Haley raised about $11 million and has around $12 million in cash on hand. Fellow South Carolinian, Sen. Tim Scott, meanwhile, reported having around $13 million on hand, but he spent big during the third quarter, reporting about $12 million in expenses. His PAC, Trust in Mission, however, canceled about $40 million in fall ads as he failed to move much in the polls. But the PAC told its donors that spending would restart as the primaries come closer.

“Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy reported $4.2 million cash on hand. Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie ended September with nearly $4 million cash on hand. Vice President Mike Pence reported just $1.2 million cash on hand and about $600,000 in unpaid debts,” The Daily Wire reported.

“North Dakota’s independently wealthy governor, Doug Burgum, finished September with about $2.3 million cash on hand. Former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson’s campaign reported having about $325,000,” the outlet added.
