Trump Calls On Biden To Debate Him 'For The Good Of the Country'

Donald Trump has issued a challenge to his expected 2024 opponent, President Joe Biden, proposing an early debate “for the good of the country” as the former president appears to be a strong contender for the GOP nomination.

In an interview with Dan Bongino on his radio show, Trump expressed doubt about Biden’s continued candidacy but still urged him to engage in an immediate debate. He also reiterated a previous offer to conduct an interview after the Super Bowl, given that the White House had announced that the president would miss it for the second consecutive year.

“And I don’t think he’s going to run. I don’t know if it’s donors or otherwise. It might be his family. It might be something,” Trump said. “I don’t think he’s gonna run, but I’d like to call for, immediately, debates. I’d like to debate him now because we should debate. We should debate for the good of the country. So I will officially go on your show call.”

“Oh, wow! Look at that! We’re breaking news: Mr. President Donald J. Trump calls for debates against Joe Biden. I mean, that’s great. We’re breaking some news here!” Bongino said in response.

“I am officially doing that. I also put out, you probably noticed, that I’ll take his spot at the Super Bowl if they want. We’ll get very good ratings,” Trump added.

In Nevada, where he was campaigning, Biden was asked about debating Trump, which he simply laughed off without a commitment.

Biden, known for supposedly advocating for “civility” in politics, is reported to have expressed more vulgar sentiments about Trump behind closed doors.

Despite Biden’s public emphasis on respect, anonymous sources allege that he exhibits outbursts and “angry interrogations” towards staff in private, Fox News Digital reports.

During private conversations with confidantes, Biden has reportedly referred to Trump as a “sick f—” and a “f—ing a–hole,” as disclosed by three individuals who heard the remarks. The article notes that Trump’s campaign responded to the alleged comments, with senior adviser Chris Lacivita criticizing Biden for disrespecting the presidency publicly and privately.

Conservatives on social media criticized Biden for his private comments, with some accusing him of hypocrisy given his public calls for decency.

The White House, when asked for comment, used the term “snowflake” to describe media coverage of the president’s language. Past reports have suggested Biden’s tendency to yell at White House aides and subject them to “angry interrogations.”
